Abstract
This proposal requests development funding for a public developer onboarding and validation infrastructure for Canton. The project is positioned as shared ecosystem infrastructure rather than a single application or a new network. Its purpose is to provide a managed intermediate environment between local development and formal DevNet / TestNet validation, so that developers and early-stage teams can complete account onboarding, identity and party allocation, DAR upload, Ledger API / JSON Ledger API access, contract testing, transaction execution, and basic debugging without first building and operating their own full setup. The infrastructure is designed to reduce onboarding friction, improve validation efficiency, and avoid duplicated effort across teams that would otherwise need to build similar early-stage environments independently. It will provide a reusable developer access path, managed participant infrastructure, controlled DAR handling, baseline observability, and supporting documentation for onboarding, troubleshooting, and migration. The intended outcome is a public-good validation layer that improves developer experience, supports project incubation and ecosystem education, and strengthens Canton’s shared development infrastructure.
