Abstract
Defero adds Canton's missing "deferred transactions" primitive: a backward-compatible extension to the Canton Network Token Standard that lets any token transfer be scheduled now and executed automatically later — at a future time or when a condition is met (vesting, payroll, coupons, escrow, delivery-versus-payment) — together with the interoperable execution-node network that reliably runs it. It replaces the bespoke schedulers every issuer, wallet, and settlement app rebuilds today with one shared, open-source standard and one execution network, managed entirely from the Daml contracts or a node API.
