Abstract
BlockSmith for Canton is an operator-first toolkit that makes deploying, connecting, monitoring, and upgrading Canton nodes feel closer to "standard practice" in mature ecosystems (EVM-style: strong deployment automation + dashboards + runbooks). It targets the ecosystem's highest-reported friction — environment setup & node operations — by shipping opinionated node templates, deterministic diagnostics, a web UI (BlockSmith Console for Canton) for one-click topology/connectivity + health visibility (including handshake-related indicators where exposed), and an upgrade/migration assistant for Canton and Daml.
